I love trains!
I managed to pursuade Anna that our second year anniversary present should be a
train set! (It is a present for both of us - honest!)
I'm modelling in n-guage (1/160) and we have bought a lot of track (PECO Settrack), 1 digital train and
controller, been given 2 trains (thanks Peter - Anna's Grandpa) and some scenery. With my sister-in-law
having just moved out we are going to make a more permanant home for the layout in her old room. The
next stage is to plan how it fits together, wiring and all, in a way that can be taken apart and transported if necessary.
The two gift trains need digital decoders fitting and that will be a challenge. I'm looking forward to the challenge and
Anna is looking forward to making the scenery and, of course, playing with the trains!
The company I Work for
I work in a printing business which my sister, Ruth, runs and my dad, Peter is about to retire from.
We specialise in business cards, printed in the traditional litho style allowing us to
print superior quality onto thicker boards than is currently possible with digital print.
The business has been going for 7 years, started in his garage by my uncle. We have
a solid base of customers from many industries, including some well known brands.
Early on we realised that what engenders loyalty amongst our customers in the feeling that
they are listened to and their orders are valued. With that in mind we spend a lot of our
time doing customer care (customer surveys, responding quickly to urgent requests, tallking
to the customer about their requirements, etc.) As a result nearly 90% of our customers
repeat with us year on year and over 95% rate as above average or excellent in all areas
from our surveys!
2006 was very successful and we are looking for a more new business to make great 2007 too!
